As part of the European eMATES project, the Vardakeios School of Ermoupoli is finalising new educational materials for learning Greek as a second language, with a focus on vocabulary and communication skills related to e-services for citizens.
One of the chapters explores public transportation and digital mobility services. Through practical, real-life activities, learners will learn to:
-identify the main modes of transportation
-look up schedules and travel information online
-purchase tickets online
-use apps and QR codes
-understand departure and arrival information
-stay informed about delays, cancellations, and schedule changes
The material is designed around real-life situations, linking language learning with the development of digital skills and independent mobility in everyday life.
At the same time, the other eMATES partners are developing and finalising corresponding educational materials in their own languages: Italian, Spanish, Polish and German. Together, the partnership is creating a multilingual set of resources that supports migrants and adult learners in developing both their language and digital skills across Europe.
With eMATES, language becomes a tool for greater autonomy, participation and access to digital services.
