Reus, Spain – January 28-29, 2025
We are thrilled to announce the successful kick-off meeting of the eMATES project, an Erasmus+ initiative aimed at reducing the digital divide among adult migrants through second-language learning in e-governance environments.
In today’s society, the digital gap is no longer just about internet access or owning a smartphone—it’s about having the necessary skills to interact with digital services, register for benefits, and participate actively in the digital world. The eMATESs project brings together educators and volunteers to develop complementary materials that will help adult migrants navigate everyday digital scenarios, from online transactions and secure payments to accessing digital identity platforms and applying for tax credits.
The project unites organizations from Greece (Vardakeios School), Italy(Polygonal), Poland(Bialostockie Centrum Edukacji), and Germany(Wisamar), with DomSpain (Reus, Spain) as the coordinating partner. Reus, the hometown of the famous modernist architect Antoni Gaudí, provided the perfect setting for this collaborative launch.
A special thanks to Olena, Helena, and the entire Spanish team for their warm hospitality and impeccable organization of the meeting. Stay tuned for more updates as we progress on this exciting journey!
