Syros, Greece, 29 September – 1 October 2025
The Training of Trainers for the Erasmus+ project eMATES – “Empowering marginalised adults with a migrant background to access e-government through language learning and teacher training” took place in Syros, hosted by Vardakeios School.
During this three-day training, participants from the five partner countries — Spain, Italy, Poland, Germany, and Greece — collaborated to design experiential educational tools that will help language teachers and professionals supporting migrants facilitate easier access to e-government services.
All materials are being developed in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) at levels A1, A2, and B1.
On the first day, the group worked on developing material around the themes of accessing healthcare services, navigating job search and employment platforms, and managing residency and legal documentation.
The second day focused on creating teaching resources related to public transport, online banking, and parenting responsibilities. These materials, adapted to different language levels, will be used in local workshops that will take place in each partner country in early 2026.
The training concluded after three days of collaboration, exchange of ideas, and sharing of experiences among educators and professionals from across Europe. Vardakeios School warmly hosted this multicultural team, creating a welcoming environment for learning and creativity.
